Happy October. Happy October. It's getting cold out there. It is. It is. So it happened all of a sudden. I don't know about you. I don't like that. And I and I hate when the weather changes because then my body reacts and I kind of have I'm like all stuffy today because of cold.
KavithaOh yeah, you do sound a little bit stuffy.
MunniYeah, all the allergies, all the pollen, the fall of pollen. So yeah. Well, so yesterday was Sahage's birthday. Yes, and last week was someone else's birthday.
KavithaWas it mine?
MunniYes.
KavithaYeah, actually, not last week. I started it on Monday and he ends it on Friday. Yeah. Um, and he turned 10. So we're in double digits, man. It's still looking back now.
MunniI know. Close to that pre-teenage. Can't believe it. I know, growing up so fast. I know. You posted all those pictures of him, it was so cute, such a cute baby. Not that he's that cute now, but like he was cute. He was a really cute baby. Yeah. Like adorable.
KavithaI was like, you need you know, it's like as you're looking through the pictures through the years, I was just like, oh yeah. Like he didn't have an opinion then. Oh, he's so cute. He would just do whatever we told him to do. Oh man, no, no. Yeah, no, but he's still a good kid.
MunniHe's a good kid. No, he's he's a good kid. He's a well-behaved kid. And the thing about I love about Sahaj is that like he understands um adults in the sense that if someone's if an any adult says don't do this, he'll kind of be like, I'm gonna back off. And they're gonna do it. Yeah. As opposed to some other kids where they're like, I'm gonna do it anyway, because you're not my because you're not my parent. And they're gonna do it in front of you. Yeah.
KavithaAnd they look at you and do it too. Yeah, look, I'm doing it again.
MunniSo what did you do for your birthday?
KavithaUm, well, I had you guys over.
MunniYes, you did.
KavithaWe do this every year. We um order Olive Garden because it's my favorite food.
MunniI didn't know this about you, but I also love Olive Garden. So good. So good.
KavithaAnd you know why? Like, because whenever you we go out now, we go to like not fancy places, but like sushi or ramen, right?
MunniWe don't go to chain restaurants as much. Yes. It's it's very much like very specific type of restaurants or like you know, and one-of-a-kind type of thing.
KavithaAnd we have so many like lovely restaurants to go to in this area. Different diverse.
MunniTyson's Mike McLean has great restaurants.
KavithaYeah. So like I remember Olive Garden growing up because like growing up, like Olive Garden was the it was the fancy place that we went to, right? Where you're like, oh, Olive Garden is fancy. If you tell any of these kids today, they're like that's they think it's like a Taco Bell. I'm like, no. I mean, actually, Taco Bell was my other option. Right. Because I love Taco Bell too. But I was like, you know what, let's step it up, let's do Olive Garden. I love Olive Garden and the bread, so good. Um, but yeah, so we I had all of you guys over and it was really nice. It was you guys, um, and then it was like, you know, like the the other dancing group of friends, and then um some of our really, really good friends that we met through Saheja school. Um it was fine. It was fun, it was really fun. And you guys you finally got to meet the that side of I did, I have my friend group.
MunniWell, I met the women before at our 5,000 listens.
KavithaDaylight the Maka.
MunniYeah, Daylight the Maka. So that was really nice. And I got to meet their significant others, and I met their kids. It was really fun. Yeah.
KavithaBecause they talk to talk to you about them a lot.
MunniYeah, you do. You talk to them, and you go on trips with them all the time too. So like it's really nice to get to meet them.
KavithaYeah. What did you do?
MunniYou came to my birthday party. I did come to your birthday party. I did I after your birthday party, that was it. I did a lot of work, and I watched a lot of TV also.
KavithaWho tired you out, huh?
MunniYeah, you did. I can only party once.
KavithaSo, what did you watch this week? Anything fun, Bollywoody? Please don't tell me you continued with that. Do you want a partner?
MunniI did. I continued to do you want a partner because I'm trying to give it a chance. But no, I have no feelings for the character, and it gets worse and worse as I keep watching more episodes. I'm on the I think I'm on the second to the last episode. I'm gonna finish it. However, why? Because I want to see how it ends. I'm really hate watching it, and I don't like Damania Bhatia right now because her character is so annoying, and I love Diana Penty. I like her. Her character, she's a great, she's doing really good acting. Her care I like her character, but I think who's stealing the show for me is this um is the guy that plays Diana Penty's brother. His name is Sufi Motiwala. He's an uh Indian content creator, he does like fashion critics. He's annoying as a critic. I was like, I don't like him, but his acting was really good in this. Like I've never heard of him. I he's like, I just love watching his scenes because he's actually really funny. Yeah.
KavithaSo you can't hate Tamana for the stupid character that's.
MunniYou're correct. But I don't like her at this moment. Okay. Because her sorry, Tamana. Yeah, I don't like today. I told you not to watch it anyway, so I don't even know what to do. You did tell me not to watch it. You did tell me not to watch it. Um anyway, apart from that, I watched the movie called Kingdom. Okay. Now I have thoughts. Okay. Okay, so you know I love Vijayadevakanda.
KavithaWell, that's my thought. I I used to really like him because he's a Telugu guy. Yeah. And he did some really, really good Telugu movies early on. And that's where I was like, oh, this he's so cute. And he's like, he did romantic-y type of things. Now he's doing these type of movies Kingdom, Liger, like all these weird movies. I didn't watch Liger, so I've nobody wants to watch that movie. Okay.
MunniI didn't watch it. Well, because Ananna, Ananias in it, so I wouldn't watch it.
KavithaI just it's not the role that I want him in.
MunniFor me. You gotta tell me what movies to watch of it. Yeah. So then I can watch it. But like I watched him in in this, and then I was like, um, it's a very like dishum dishum type of movie. Like you call it dishumbi. It takes this folk folklore, uh old story from the 1940s, kind of like what happened to this one group of um Teluguins. What do you guys call yourself? Telugus. Um Telugus uh from India that were because dur uh during the war they were kind of shifted to a different area in Sri Lanka, like outcast kind of like that. So it's so kind of bases off of that, and then it just shows like shows him how he gets in involved in it and stuff like that. Um, but it's just gruesome. So it's not probably something that you like. I mean, I don't know.
KavithaI might give it a try, like weird murdery type of thing.
MunniYeah, I do like weird murder. So anything else? You have anything you've watched? So I I tried to watch Daruk 2 yesterday. I heard it's good. A lot of great reviews on it, amazing reviews.
KavithaYeah, I didn't even get started on it because I was so tired. But the thought was there to watch it. I just didn't get very Yeah. When you told me yesterday like I'm gonna watch Dark Dark 2 at like 11:30 or something, I was like really midnight. Yeah, I was like, I'm gonna try to watch it because I was started to edit last week's podcast, right? And I was like, oh wow, this is gonna take a long time. And then I'm like, you know what? I'm gonna watch something instead. And then I started to think about putting it on Netflix, and then I fell asleep. So I didn't even get it on Netflix. But I did watch um a show throughout the week, an English show called Wayword. It's number one right now. Okay, it is psycho crazy. I think I'm not watching it, and I need somebody to tell me what happens because I watch the whole thing and I don't understand the ending. This happens to me a lot. Yeah, and I don't understand. You do say that. I'm like, what? Wait, what is it about? So it's about this um uh like delinquent teens get sent away to like this academy that's supposed to straighten them up, right? But it's like a cult, basically. And like it's just it's just the ins and outs of it. It's not my vibe. It's really good though. I wouldn't want to it's really good. I'll look at the trailer and I'll see. It's really good in terms of like it keeps you wanting to watch more, and that's why at the very end, I'm like, huh? Like it was just I'm gonna Wikipedia for and tell you what it's about. Yeah, no, I don't I want somebody to watch it that listens to Extra Shada Chai and come back and tell me what happened. Cause I don't get what happened. Um, but that's all I really watched. Okay.
MunniI actually I forgot to mention one other thing that I watched. The second episode of No, I don't we don't want to hear about it. Um Kajul and Twinkle show. Oh god. My only thought is that they don't have Kajal and Tinkle don't have good chemistry. It's a weird couple. Like they're not vibe, they don't vibe well. Varun and Alia were there, and they probably could do a good better hosting job as a pair because they have the they can play off of each other. They're friends. Yeah. You I've never seen Twinkle and Kajal hang out together or be friends together, you know?
KavithaSo I think it's a because twinkle twinkle is the little star. Twinkle, twinkle, little star. How I wonder what to uh uh twinkle twinkle. So many little stars. I know you probably jumped down the rabbit hole with trending topics. What uh rabbits or morsels of wisdom can you give us now? Wait, what?
MunniThis is not wisdom for anyone.
KavithaHowever, it's nonsense that somehow sticks in our head.
MunniYes. Alright, well, trending topics. Did you did you see? I know we just talked about him, and I told you how much I like him. Vijay is getting getting married to Reshmika.
KavithaOkay, so those two have been rumored to be dating for a very, very long time. I think it was around Arjun Riddy time. They've done, I think, one or two movies together. And one of the movies is the one that I'm like, oh, it's such a really nice movie, like the where I liked him. Yeah. And then he started doing dumb movies. Um, so yeah, they've supposedly been dating together since then. Dating for quite some time.
MunniUh, interesting. Yeah. Interesting. Okay. Well, they're supposed to get married in 2026, February, I think it is. It says. That's what that's what I again. A rumor. A rumor. Allegedly. Allegedly. But who knows? I don't really like her with him.
KavithaI think Well, it's gonna be his wife. So I feel like he could do better. I don't think he cares what you think.
MunniAlso, Sunny Sansskari, Kitlusi Kumari, has finally released. And I don't think he's doing that good. I've seen what's it even about?
KavithaDo we know?
MunniYes, we do. We do. We do we there's there's two couples originally dating, and then those two couples break up, and the breakup couples get together about to get married, and the ones that got broken up over got broken up or left alone. Uh left alone, those two get together to break the two new the new couple up so they can be back with their exes.
KavithaEw. Yeah.
MunniUm, but yeah, so that's out. It doesn't look like it's that good. I did see like one of my favorite reviewers talk about it, and he's like, Oh, it's a good movie. I think I think you're lying.
KavithaI don't think it's it could be a good like net Netflix in the background.
MunniYeah, I think it would be a good it would be a good probably be a good Netflix watch. I think that's probably what's gonna be. Um, also a homebound released.
KavithaThat actually I want to see.
MunniSo that it was interesting because it's Oscar nomination, right? Um it was Oscar nominated from India and that went through, but apparently open released in India, and then no one is really watching it. Like in India, like the release was really low. It wasn't like not a lot of people of the opening week, it didn't get any.
KavithaI think so.
MunniAnd that's and then people are saying like people are disappointed, they're thinking that India always talks we don't make good movies, we're gonna make good movies, and the West makes these like really like thought-provoking movies, and but when we make a good movie that's thought-provoking that actually made it to the Oscars, no one's going to watch it.
KavithaBut again, who's going to go to theaters and watch these movies? The masses. Yeah, you know, like you're right. They'll probably go to Sunny Saskari over this.
MunniThey probably will go to Sunny Saskari, Jali L B those movies. Yeah. Or some wartime movie that's like you have to know your audience.
KavithaYeah. India's might not be the audience, but internationally.
MunniInternationally is supposed to be good. I mean, I don't it's released. I don't know if it's playing anywhere around here. I'm sure it ha we should go if it is.
KavithaI won't.
MunniIf it is, we should go watch it. Um I think that's about the trending. And um Um Ansula got engaged. Oh, Anchula is Arjun Kapoor's sister, Bonnie Kapoor's daughter, half sister to John V and Kushi Kapoor. And um, who did she get engaged to?
KavithaShe got engaged to this guy named Rohan Tucker. Um, I'm not sure what he does. Like, I don't know who he is or anything, but the pictures looked really good. She looks cute.
MunniShe's cute. She Ansula's cute. I like her.
KavithaYeah, so I mean, congratulations to both couples.
MunniI yes, both couples are engaged.
KavithaAnd now um Anshula and her her fiance, Rohan.
MunniRohan. All right. One interesting thing for me is that John V was replaced in Dostana 2. Oh with Sri Lila. Oh. And now the cast is Vikrant Masay. Love him. Laksh. Hot voice.
unknownYes.
MunniAlso very hot. Uh with Sri Lila, which I think, okay, so she's hot too. She's hot. So I think now I like the remember. I was telling you, like, I don't, I still don't see Vikrant in Dostana 2, but I don't know. I'm I'm just probably going by what I, you know, Dostana 1. Yeah, originally. So he might, he might surprise me. But this group this cast now I like it more. Yeah. And I think I think it'll be better. The chemistry will be better. Because I didn't see John V with Garth Aik or Lux. Like it just doesn't look good. Weird, yeah. Yeah. But I wonder why John V left. What's your thought, Pro? What do you think?
KavithaI don't know. It says she got replaced. So I don't know if she left on her own will, or they just took somebody else, or maybe she her dates didn't work out, and you know, you never know. Or she's like, I don't want to act with these two. I have no idea. I couldn't.
MunniI think your last one, I think you probably hit it on the last one where she doesn't work with want to work with these people because these are known, they're not big names.
KavithaYes, they are. National award winner, and now you got bads of Bollywood. The guy is trending everywhere. You're right, you're right. But I feel like she left because of that, she's an idiot.
MunniMaybe because I don't know. But she did do a movie with Raj Kapurao, and he he's not like a you know, a but he was known as a good actor. He's a good actor. I mean, they're both of these guys are known as good actors.
KavithaYeah, that's what I'm saying.
MunniI don't know. No idea why John V left.
KavithaI'm kind of excited to see. So Sri Lila is a very good dancer, right? Yeah. I feel like we haven't seen Luxh dance. I hope he's good.
MunniYou're right. No, we tell him in very simple type of moves.
KavithaYeah, but not like, you know, a big Bollywood number, right?
MunniYeah, I I they were gonna have a Bollywood number. I'm gonna go. Because Daisy Girl is still running on people's thing.
KavithaSo Daisy Girl was at my wedding. I was like, this is on the no playlist. Because I had went to so many weddings before that, and it was always Daisy Girl. I'm like, please do not play this anymore, please.
MunniThe year I got married was Muni butnam.
KavithaOh, but that's your song.
MunniI so like that became like everyone gets to it on my wedding, on my wedding reception, like on my wedding day, then the reception that we had in in Wisconsin. Oh, they also did Muni butnam, and I still get Muni butnam. I still get that. We still do that with Sheila's. Yes. Yes, you do. So funny.
KavithaAll right, Muni. We've already talked about two cons, Salman and Sharuk. There are two other ones that I think we should deep dive them too. What do you think? Yes, we should deep dive them too. We should.
MunniDo you want to start with one? Yeah, let's start with the one that is a con, but like doesn't get included in all the cons when you talk about it.
KavithaHe's like an outsider con.
MunniHe's kind of an outsider con. He's like kind of like sitting outside and then the other con. He's in the big three. Everyone knows a big three. We know SRK, we know Salman, and we know Amer. Yeah. I'm gonna talk about Saf Ali Khan. Which is interesting that he is not as big as the other because technically he is considered an Apple child. That's true. Sharmila Tagor's son. Exactly. Sharmila Tagor's son. So let's get started in regards to Saef Ali Khan and his lineage. So he is known as the Chorte Nawab in the industry, and it's because he is royalty, right? Because his family was part of the Nawab royalty. He's part of the Padawdi family uh of Nawabs, and they're a small state of Patawdi. Yeah, it used to be a small state of Padawdi, and it was uh today Haryana. So they're part of that. So they're part of that. His grandfather was a no was Nawab, but also a cricketer. So his father his grandfather.
KavithaBut his father was too.
MunniYes, so his father continued. So his dad was he played cricket, so his grandfather played cricket for both India and England um at that time, and then he married a royal family from Bupal, Sanja, and then they had children, Mansur Ali Khan, who is Sayev's dad. Okay, and then he also um was a cricketer, also. So and then he became he's a he's a legendary cricketer, he was a captain of the Indian uh team, and he was called, yeah, and he was called Tiger Pututi. Padodi, Padodi, Padodi.
KavithaI I feel like I know him more of a as a cricketer than part of a royal family.
MunniYeah, I don't think they I don't think, yeah, I didn't know Saif as a royal family until later on in life, too. So I don't know if it was that big when he came out the royal, like he's coming to acting or anything like that.
KavithaI mean, kingdoms aren't a thing anymore.
MunniYeah, they're not, but they still have like their family home, right? Yeah, and then um he married Shamura Tagore. Yes. And we all know who Shamila Tagore is, she's an actress. I'll go into her. Um, so it was and they had Mansur and Saramila had two three kids, and that is Saef Ali Khan, Saba Ali Khan, and then then we have Soha Ali Khan. There's a Saba? There's a Saba. Is she like like not into the films at all? I don't think she's in the film at all, and she's kind of like she looks different from them. I don't always see them together and everything. So I don't know if there's like something happening there or not, but the oldest is Saev, then is Saba, and Soha is the youngest. Okay. Um, from his mom's side, so Shramila, she comes from the Tagore family. Um, she had her family's deep in the roots.
KavithaLike Rabir Nath Tagore, like the the great writer and her her ancestry connects to uh Rabindranath Tagore.
MunniYeah, her ancestry uh goes all the way back there. So it's technically, so it's actually Takur and then I it anglicized to Tagore. Her family goes really deep into the arts and literature.
KavithaMost Bengalis do.
MunniMost Bengalis Bengali. There is uh a lot about the art, the artsy, yeah, all of that type of stuff. So Shermila converted to um Islam before getting married to before marrying Mansur Ali Khan and became Begum Aisha Sultana. Begum. Begum because I got obviously because he's Noab, right? So she had to probably get that title too. And so Saifali Khan is like pretty, like his family lineage is pretty big.
KavithaIt kind of makes sense in a way because like you know how like they've always said this about Saifali Khan. He's very well spoken, he's well read, he's well educated.
MunniBut now it makes a lot more sense why he's like why he's a wicked when he speaks, like you don't it's clear, very clear, very like smart, very witty too. He's very witty, very smart.
KavithaBut even just his like enunciation of words, yeah, really good.
MunniYeah. Um, so he so Sayev inherits all of that artsy stuff from his mom's side, and then additionally or gets all that like no the royalty and stuff and cricketing heritage from bringing from his dad's side.
KavithaI wonder why he didn't go to the cricketing round. I guess he wasn't good. I maybe was I who knows, yeah.
MunniWho knows? So let's break down into uh Sai Falikhan's career. Okay. Right? So his debut, um, it says on Wikipedia it says Bar and Bara on 1993, he came with Jess Chopra. Uh he so that was a very forgettable role, and I don't remember it. It's with Amer Khan also in it. Was Jackie Shref in that? I don't remember Jackie Shref being in it, but I know Amir Khan and him were supposed to be half siblings in that movie. Um Wait, Amir Khan and Saifali Khan? Yeah. Oh they supposed to be set half siblings in that movie. Okay. Um and it didn't do that well. Like the movie didn't do that well. I remember it because I used to watch all these movies back in the day. And Saifali Khan was a really bad dancer, and I think that's very key in my eye that I remember how bad of a dancer he was from that. And Amir Khan's a bad dancer too, right? So they put two bad dancers trying to dance in this movie. It was really bad. Yeah. Um, but he also did this movie called Ashikawara. That's the first movie I saw him in. And he played a leading role in that one. Um, and I remember and the they had really fun songs in it, and it wasn't it wasn't so bad. But again, 90s movies. I and I was a kid, like, what do I really know about movies? They're all masala. Yeah, exactly. They're all like Bollywood, you know, the Bollywood Masala stuff. So that's where he started off with. I think his breakthrough um breakthrough movie that worked out for him was Yeadla Gee. Oleole, right? Yes, that is Oleole.
KavithaI remember Saifali Khan's hair.
MunniYes, he had good hair. Yeah. Saifali Khan had really good hair. Um, but he was always like put together as a comic relief to like Aksha Kumar or Salman Khan or Ajay Dev Ghan. So he's kind of like did a lot of that type of stuff where he wasn't like he wasn't the main guy, right? He was always like put it as like a supporting, kind of like supporting character to that, yeah, that that part of it. People like I think started noticing him a lot more was um in the movie Dil Cha Tahe.
KavithaI was gonna say I liked him in that role. He like would fall in love with every girl that came by, right? I thought he was so cute, he played it so well. Yeah, and like I liked the three best friends, like it was really nice.
MunniYeah, I think that's where like people really saw his like I don't know, I think something about his potential on that. So Dil Cha Tahe was his it was a game changer for him. Um and his first solo hit, and I brought this up earlier, uh, I think a couple episodes ago, my about my favorite rom com, Humdum, was his first solo hit, and he did a really good job in that. Um, he did a great job when he played negative roles too, right? Like we talk about him in Om Gara.
KavithaYeah. Oh my god. He was scary. Yes, yeah.
MunniSo I think he's like reinvented himself multiple times, from this like side character to like this comic guy. Someone main lead. Someone main lead, then to a lead, and then to like like being like kind of villain. I think he could like, I think he's proven himself in in that where he is like a versatile actor, I would say right now. He does take a lot of then he did the OTT sacred games.
KavithaCause then he reinvented himself again by going into because I don't think many big stars did OTT at the time where he did.
MunniAt the time, exactly. Um, so his career, you know, I think he's in a good place. Um, but I think some of the controversies in his life was that he got married to uh Amrita Singh when he was 21 years old. And she was like 47. No, she wasn't, she was 33. I have to bake it as a baked game. Dude, that's a huge age gap. That's a huge age gap. 21 boys? So at that time it was like it shocked all of Bollywood. You know, and Saif Ali Khan wasn't even a big name yet. So like when they got married, she was kind of a she was big, a name, right? Yeah, she was a successful actress already. Um, so and Saif Ali Khan was just starting out.
KavithaDid they do a movie together? How did they meet?
MunniYeah, they first I met at a film which was supposed to be Saif's debut, but it didn't end up being that. But that's where they met and they shared like a really good like they I guess had good banter or something. They started dating. So they so whatever their relationship was, they got married, and that was a big thing in in the industry. And then the age gap? I think they have age gap and also the and how fast they got married. They weren't dating for a long time. Oh, and then they had two kids, Sarah and Ibrahim, which we know of them in the industry right now. Yeah, so they had a great they were they were fine for they were married for 13 years. Like apparently there were some affairs, and they were like he fell out of.
KavithaSassali Khan, really?
MunniYeah. So that he fell out of love with her. Um, and then after his divorce with um with Amrita, during his um Tashin shoot, um, he kind of fell for Karina. Like that's where It was during Tashin. It was during Tashin. Uh he fell in love with her and they started dating. And after dating, then they got married. And interest. Yes. Yep. Great. And they have two kids. One was Daimur Ali Khan and one is Jahangir Ali Khan and who they call Jay.
KavithaYeah. Yeah. It's funny, there's always these memes of like Sef Ali Khan has um children that can play his biopic at every age. Yes. Because like they all look like him. Do you know what we forgot to talk about with Saefully Khan? What? What did you forget? Do you remember they had they had that whole like stabbing thing?
MunniYes, yes, that was kind of a really big incident.
KavithaIt was not really a it was like a a few months ago.
MunniIt was in January of this year. Yes, yes, there was an intruder in their house that was inside one of their kids' bathrooms, and then he entered the house, like he was already in the house, and then Saef heard the noises and went to the room and saw the guy um holding um the uh the maid or someone. Something and then like and then like Saev went to protect and then he got stabbed.
KavithaYeah, he had to have like major surgery. Yeah, it was crazy, it was huge, yeah.
MunniUm, but then like hope then he like recovered and he's doing much better now.
KavithaWe talked about it because we were just like, Why does he look so good coming out of the hospital after he was? He was like stabbed so many times.
MunniWith a couple of days later, within the same week, he came home and we're like, why did he look good?
KavithaHe he doesn't look like he got stabbed in the back. He's walking very well.
MunniI don't know. Maybe there's like great surgeons and they have a lot of money and they can take care of it really fast. Who knows? So yeah. Hopefully, maybe he's gonna be on the Twinkle and Kajal show. Maybe he'll talk about it there. They'll talk about it there.
unknownOkay.
MunniI'll watch that one.
KavithaWell, I mean, we both like Cyphalican. We do.
MunniI have nothing, I have no problem with Sipheli Khan. Like, yeah, his marriage to Amirta didn't bother me, his marriage to Karina didn't bother me. Yeah. I'm I actually really I think he's I think he's like No cringe moments. No cringe moments from him. Personally, I don't have any any problem.
KavithaOkay, so we just talked about Seifu. Yes, and we did we did mention that we talked about two other cons earlier, Salman and Sharuk, but there's one third con in the in crowd. In the in crowd, of the big three. Of the big three cons. So to round out the three from the big three, Amir Khan. Mr. Perfectionist. Yes, yes. So he is also a Nepo baby, like um Sefali baby. Sefali Khan, yeah. His father was a film producer. Oh yeah. I did not know his father was a film producer. Yeah, but Mr. Tahir Khan, he was a film producer, director, and a writer. He's produced several um uh Bollywood movies from the 70s and the 80s. One was Karavan and another was Anami Kai. Um and his mom is Zenith Hussein. Uh she we don't really know too much about her because she's just like, I don't want to be part of this whole crazy Hollywood world. So the only time you really see her is in pictures with family events and stuff. So he's got um three siblings. Um he has two sisters, Niketh Khan and Farhat Khan. They also don't stay in the public eye as much and they're not. I never hardly ever seen. I didn't know these two existed. Me either. Um and then we know about Fezal Khan. Um there was a little bit of controversy about him earlier. Yes. In the last month or so, I think it was. I think so. Um He okay, he was married. I think I think it was a high school or college sweetheart named Rina Thatha. Okay. And she is the mother of Junaed Khan, Mr. Very Tall Guy, love love Yapa boy.
MunniYes.
KavithaAnd Ira Khan, who married that crazy groom that like their whole wedding was so strange. It was like a hippie wedding.
MunniI don't know what you feel that way. I don't know that I don't know what hippie weddings are. I just I just saw him running to his barath and he was like all sweaty and signing, and she was like wearing this like mixed match they see clothes. It was weird. Her hair was all it was very, very strange. Very strange. I don't know what that was.
KavithaAgain, I guess they're rich enough to be weird like that. Okay. So Ira Khan, she um runs a mental health awareness, um, like she she does projects about mental health awareness. And Janaith Khan, um, he just made his debut into Bollywood films over the summer. And we like him. We we think he's he's good. I feel bad for him, and that's why I want him to be good.
MunniWhy do you feel bad for him?
KavithaBecause I remember we saw all those Love Yappa things, right?
MunniSo I will say Love Yapa, the movie itself. Did you watch it? I watched it. We talked about this. Oh I forgot about this. Because you know me in my memory. Yes. We I thought he did a good job in his acting. And I also Oh, this is Cushy. And I also said Cushy did a good job too. Whatever. Yep. I like Cushy in this better than I like Nadania. As a newcomer, I thought she did a good job. There's there's an emotional scene, I think she did a really good job. Wow, so I think you should watch it just to see how she did. Yeah, and I think if anything, she has probably the best uh potential to do good acting than Arjun. Um the other guy. No, Arjun, not Arjun. I actually like Arjun. Um, better than John V. Shania and Jan V. Yeah.
KavithaAh, maybe, maybe. She um I think she's really pretty and she's like tall and all that.
MunniShe's yeah, but Junette did good too. Junette was good.
KavithaI like him because I like in all those promos, I was just like, You're so dorky.
MunniHe's such a nerd. Yeah, he was bringing his backpack everywhere. Like he looked so out of place. He looks so out of place. Not his vibe at all.
KavithaHe's not a glamour boy. He's not about that. Playing up to the laparatic.
MunniAnd it's very strange. He's so tall and Amrakhan is so short.
KavithaDid you see that Farrakhan in Dilip thing? No. Okay, so oh yes. So Dilip is Farrakhan's cook. And he makes a comment. Because so Farrakhan has these little clips where she brings celebrities into the kitchen to cook with Dilip, right? Yep, yep. And Junayat Khan was one of them. Yeah. And she's she's like, Do you know whose son this is? And Farrakhan, he's like, Oh, I don't know. Maybe Salman, because Salman, you know. And uh, of course, Salman Khan has no kids that we know of. And um, so she's like, no, Amir Khan. He's like, Amir Khan? And then he like makes he does this little short, like and so he refers to Amir Khan being really short and Junaid Khan being very tall. Very tall.
MunniIt is funny though, like he is very much tall than his dad. I don't he's a giant. He seems like a giant next to Amir Khan. Yeah, like you would have never It's like Mythil and me standing together. Yeah.
KavithaSo he divorced their mom, Rina Data. Yeah. And got married to um another lady named Kir Kirin Rao, director of Lapata Ladies. Yes, Lapata Ladies. Yeah, yeah. Um, and then they have a child named Azad Khan. I didn't know had they I didn't know they had a kid.
MunniYeah. I didn't know they had a kid together. I didn't know that. Oh okay.
KavithaSo he was exposed to movies and cinema, obviously, because his dad was a film writer, film producer. And then he also has an uncle who was a director. And his uncle I didn't know any of this, that he had that much family in the industry. Yeah, so his uncle's his uncle's name is Nasir Khan. And another cousin named Mansur Khan who directed Kayamatse, Kayamataka.
MunniOh, Mansur Khan did that.
KavithaYes, that name sounds familiar. Yes. So that launched Amir Stardom. It didn't launch him into Bollywood. He started acting in uh documentaries ear early on, I think, because you know he's a method actor, right? He's a method actor. So I feel and he he um did most of these documentaries were directed by students that were part of the Film and Television Institute of India. Okay. So it was like very experimental. Everything seemed like very experimental. And I guess also that probably could have led him into like because I feel like when he does movies, he does in his head, he picturizes the whole thing, even the way that he like picks movies and stuff, at least nowadays. It comes from all the stuff that his background has, right?
MunniAll of the things that he used on.
KavithaAll of his like you know, past and brought it forward to us now. Um, but his very first movie was a low-budget experimental film called Holy. I've never heard of that.
MunniI've never heard of this.
KavithaUm, but that's what it was. Um, and then we they realized his family realized that this is not gonna bring you into stardom, my friend. And so that's when QSQD started, 1988, of opposite, who we think is his wonderful match on on screen on the Bollywood screen, Mrs.
MunniDewey Chowla. Yeah, Jewey Chowella and him do look good together. And Gamma Sakamatak is um is one of those movies that I remember it was a huge hit, huge hit when he came out.
KavithaAnd the songs were great, they were cute, they were so cute together. There's a Romeo Juliet type of movie. Yeah, it was a Romeo Juliet type of movie. He won um the best male debut that year. Yeah, he did, yeah. For the for in the film fairs. And then from then on, it was kind of no turning back for him in terms of like the mass films, like those love story films. So there was Dil, there was Hamira Hi Piarke, Jojita Vohisikand. Oh, Joji the Voice and they're so good. So many nice movies, and the songs were so good in the movie. I think 90 songs were just good. Yeah.
MunniThey're honestly, we just talk about how good the 90s songs are. Like Joji the well, Joji Taway Sikh had great songs in it. Yeah. Dil had good songs, Hamira Hi Piarke had good songs. I love that movie so much.
KavithaHamira Hi Piarke, I think, was one of the first Amir Khan movies that I saw. Okay, okay. And I thought it was such a fun, cute movie. Those songs are so good. Like, it was just a nice, yeah, wholesome family movie. Yes. Because you can't see wholesome family movies. We don't have wholesome family. What is that? That's not a thing anymore. Um so then in the 2000s, he reinvented himself. He became the Amir Khan that we kind of know of today, Mr. Perfectionist, Mr. Thinker, right? So the first film that he came out with in 2001, Lagan. Nominated for the Academy Awards in Best Foreign Language. I mean, that's pretty big, right? Because I think it was one of the first mainstream Bollywood movies that was nominated to be part of the the Oscars. Yes. And that's a really big deal.
MunniYeah, I remember seeing, I remember hearing about Lagan, like, I think about cricket, what is that? And then I too. And then I watched it. Yeah. And it like blew me away how good this this movie was. Like I thought it was just a great movie. Because it had a message too. It had a message, and it was just so different. And it was like we're so used to seeing certain type of movies, and then this came out and it was like very different. And I I liked it. I liked it a lot. I liked it too.
KavithaIt was a little bit too long for my liking. It was very long.
MunniIt was very long. I agree.
KavithaIt was good. Um, and then that same year, we talked about Lagon, how very different, and then he did Dil Chattah.
MunniDil Chatahai, also such a different character he played, different makeover.
KavithaHe was a village boy in Laghan, and then he was this modern, like looking IT guy. Yes.
MunniHe was cool in that one, yes. So cool.
KavithaYeah. So and it's just interesting how he came out with both of those movies in the same year and how different.
MunniAnd I think that really like defined him, like to be this like very different, unique type of actor. Yeah. And we're he's always been around, right? So but I think these two movies really did that for him.
KavithaYeah, and we talked about how Saifeli Khan was in Dil Chat The Hai together. Together, yeah. And they were just so different in the movies, too, right? But they were so both of them very good. Yeah. Um, and then another movie that came out in the 2000s, I know one of your favorites, Rangade the B Rangade Basanti.
MunniRangade Basanti is such a good movie. So good. If you have not watched it, recommend watching it. It's a movie that is inspiring in so many ways.
KavithaAnd then he's got some like other like kind of serious roles, but also these are what really stood out. Catapulted him to the top. Gudgeony. Yes. But then he also did Thalash that year, or a few years later. Yeah, Thalash was. That movie was we talk about twists and stuff. Yeah, that was. I did not see the twist in that.
MunniI did not see the twist in that one.
KavithaIt's like whole Ronnie. Yeah. And then he also did um PK, which I really like. I like PK.
MunniI thought it was so much social message, such a good message, such a cool.
KavithaBut it was like a fun way of putting through that message. It did.
MunniI thought it was a fun way he did that.
KavithaYep, agreed. And then most recently of his movies, I really liked Dungle. Yeah. I think I've read that. I watched that with Sahage and two of our friends who are not Indian, they are Persian. And those boys, like, we didn't finish it, and they went home and they're like, we need to find this movie, Mom. It's called Dangle. Oh my god. And they finished it and they loved it. So Amir Khan also, he's got a few controversies. Not as many as some of our other friends. But some of the controversies are obviously his marriage and divorces to Rina Data, his first wife, and his second wife, Kieran Rao. Um, but so along along the same time of when Dungle came out, I've I don't know if you remember hearing this, but there was a girl in Dungle and her name was Fatima.
MunniAnd there was a rumor that they were dating. Yes, because we did a blind item a couple months ago, like in the beginning of beginning when we start first started, that there was an actress who, like, you know, uh thought she's like she's dating someone or kind of like seeing someone, and she even cut her hair short because this particular actor, superstar actor, really loves short hair and things like that. Exactly. Read that though? Exactly. And people are saying that it was Fatima Sanasheik and that they were allegedly dating because he would um visit her at her uh apartments all alleged, it's on Reddit. And I I think it could be a good one. And there's pictures of them holding hands, but they never officially came out that they were dating.
KavithaUm, so some other controversies with him is they in the 90s he was accused of being really difficult to work with because he didn't want to sign too many films at once, like whereas you have Aksha Kumar signing 10. Yes. This guy's like, I'm going to do Vand a year. Yeah. And so some producers laid labeled him as like arrogant or a perfectionist. And so a lot of people didn't want to work with him because they wanted to, you know, plug and chug, plug and chug. Yeah, yeah. Like movies in and out, in and out type of thing. I don't know if you remember also, sometime in the 2000s, uh late to not late 2000s, but mid 2000s, like 20, 2012, 2013 time frame, he had an Oprah-like show. It was called Satya Satya Mave GSA.
MunniYes, yes.
KavithaI really liked that show. And I was actually kind of sad that it hasn't continued because it would tackle social issues, and I feel like people brought a lot of people and talked about what their life was like, and he'd help a lot of people, give a lot of money and stuff like that, right? I feel like people from India need to see this type of stuff. Like, I don't know, like that's how I felt. And yeah, that's why I say it was like a very Oprah-esque type of show. Because Oprah did that, right? Like I really, really liked it.
MunniWhen you think about the three cons, right? Salon Khan, uh, Sharukan, American, like they all have their own type of legacy. They're all different, they're all different type of thing. Yeah. What type of legacy do you think that American has left?
KavithaLike I mean, he's got great movies. So I feel like independent films, he's done a ton of those, and just very different movies. Like Lagan was the one of the first villagey movies that became mainstream. Yeah. Then you had Three Idiots. The story was very different. Then you had Dil Chatahe, again, very different. Then you had Rungila, where he was like this crazy, like bomb bay guy, right? So you had very, very different, different type of films coming from the same person. Yes. So what is Amer Khan doing now? He just did Sitare Zamin Pur, which was um somewhat of the sequel of the sequel.
MunniIt's not? It's just a name of that, and they're just using the name of the city. Why did he do that then? It had nothing to do with that. So stupid.
KavithaOkay, well, anyway, that was out in June of this. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. And then um Cooley, remember that whole like controversy with Cooley with Regni Kant? Oh yeah, yeah.
MunniHe came as a special appearance or like a guest appearance, something like Kenya, right?
KavithaYep. And apparently he has this big passion project, the Mahabharat. Oh. And apparently he's been planning it for the last 30 years, and he's kind of indicated that scripting is gonna be come uh is gonna be begin soon. But the thing is, the Mahabharata is a very detailed story, and very long, right? Very long. So you gotta pick the best parts if you're gonna make a movie out of it, or it's gotta be a series. I don't know if we'll be alive by the end of it. Because it's a very long time.
MunniI remember Mahabharata on the TV. We used to watch it, it's very good.
KavithaIt's a very good story, but it's there's so many characters. Like, if you got confused with the Bali Bahu Bali characters, this is another level. If you're gonna do this, you gotta do it well. Yeah. And that's all I'm gonna say. Yep, yep, I agree.
Speaker 14I agree.
KavithaOkay, so Sefu and Amir, I know we've loved them both, but if you had to pick um one of your favorite movies from each.
MunniI think you know my favorite movie from Amir Khan. I think Rang de Basante is one of my favorite movies from it. I think the Basante.
KavithaSee, that's I don't know if I have an all-time favorite. I like I said, I love Hamhira Hi Pyaki, I liked Rangila, like because he's so different, right? In so many movies. So many different types. There are a lot of movies of his that I don't like, but there are a lot of movies of his that I do like. Yeah. So I don't know.
MunniI I don't think it's hard. Yeah, yeah. I mean he has great, but I think Rang de Basante, something about it has always like just stayed with me, and I just love that movie so much. And what about Seifu? Seifu, I think I talked about it. I think I think absolutely he did a great job in that movie.
KavithaI really liked him in Bill Chatahe. I loved his character in that. And that's when I stood up and I was like, oh, this guy is he's cute, he's good, he's funny. If he it felt natural.
MunniTell us what your what your favorite movies are for Amer and Sayeth.
KavithaYeah, or and if you don't have any favorites, or if you just like one over the other.
MunniYeah, exactly.
Speaker 6Hello?
Speaker 5I don't think it's not very much.
Speaker 6Just give her to her.
KavithaOkay, money, it is a blindy windy time. I only have one today. And here we go. This power couple is at the top of their game. Not only do they have an awesome lineup of movies, they're parents to an adorable baby as well. As for some unverified reports, they're pregnant again. An announcement will be made soon. Meanwhile, an actress who has shifted base to London too is pregnant with her second child. Do you know who the power couple might be? That they're muskaying all over the place.
MunniYou got you gotta give me something that's harder. This is Ali Abad Rambir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor and her husband.
KavithaNo, you did not get the London Anushka Sharma and Virat Kali have moved to London.
MunniOh, I didn't know they moved to London. Yeah.
KavithaOh, okay. Yeah. Oh, actually, wait, maybe it is Sonam too, because the so one person said Anushka Sharma, and I remember we reading something. They're pregnant again. Don't they already have two kids? Maybe they have a third. Yeah. I don't know. I think that person's wrong. No? Okay, maybe okay. You person might be wrong. But then another person also said Son of Kapoor, but I thought she was already in London. She lives in London.
MunniShe was like back and forth. She was living back and forth, I think.
KavithaSo why would you say that she moved to London?
MunniI think officially moved. I don't know why people are saying that, but I know she's expecting his second kid. I know she's expecting his second kid, yeah.
KavithaOkay, so okay. So the first power couple that all of a sudden the blinds love is Runbir and Alia. Supposedly they're expecting their second child, but I have not seen anything. I haven't seen anything, yeah. And that's why they did say unverified reports. And the actress that has moved to London, it could be Anushka, because I do remember she moved to London. I do remember reading reports that after Verat Kohli was gonna retire from cricket, they were gonna move to London because of this whole paparazzi and all that kind of stuff. You know how they didn't like all that stuff. But it could be Sonom Kapoor too, because there is a report that she is actually pregnant and she already does live in London. Yeah. You blinds need to step it up. Yeah, man. Come on with some better stuff, come with some more gossipy stuff. Yeah. Money, it is time for our vows. What are the polls saying?
MunniSo this week, because it was garba season, and we Yes, never at three. Yes, so we did um garba songs to see what people are listening to. So the winner of it is Dol Revagad, I think it's called. How do you pronounce it? Dol Revagad. Yeah, and it's by Heli Um Jeshuant, and it's a really fun song. And it looked it's a very garba song. Yeah. So I'm I was like, I wasn't shocked that people picked that song. It was a very garba song, yeah.
KavithaYeah, we just went to a garba.
MunniYes, we did.
KavithaPacked House.
MunniPacked House, and it was for charity.
KavithaFor charity. Yep.
MunniAnd it went, all the money went charity. It was really, really fun. I can't wait to do it again next year.
KavithaYay!
MunniSo Muni, what's your vow? Okay, my vow is a new song that just dropped, and it's called Scene, and it's by Tanishk, the guy that I love, he does all the songs. So he sings too. He's actually singing in the song.
KavithaBecause he Tanishk Bagchi, right? Yes, yes. They are uh music.
MunniBecause it has him and it says featuring Harmon Bra. I it's really cool. It goes like old school song, uh-huh, and then it goes to like the new versus and stuff like that. I like it. It's really nice. Hopefully you like it too when you put this together.
KavithaMine, um, you know how I get my discoveries from TikTok once in a while. I have not been on TikTok in a very long time, but I finally got on and I noticed that you have sent me a thousand messages that I need to look at. Yes, yes. But my song is called Merimena. Yes, I know this. It's a really good song. It's by some um by a first man in Olid, and it's very catchy fun. It's a very catchy stuff. It's a very like um Egyptian y Turkish type of Moroccan feel. It's well, good vows. I enjoyed this episode.
MunniYes, hope you guys enjoy it. Like, share, follow. Let us know. Bye. Bye.
KavithaT Y will be there. And I'm like, oh, thank you, will be there, but then the kid's name is Ty.
MunniOh shit. Patootie Pootie Patootie.
KavithaThis is for her too, actually. This might be the one movie where she No way.
MunniDoes she talk, or is it just her face?
KavithaI think she does. Long? Yeah, yeah. So tall. What is wrong with me? So long. Those are two of his wives. Let me do that again. Why do we keep calling?
