SPEAKER_11

Money. Money, money, money. Well, hello there, ma'am. I am You're very excited today.

SPEAKER_13

Delirious because again, it's a late night recording, but that's okay, because I get to do it with you. Yes, thank you.

SPEAKER_11

Mm-hmm. So, um, how's your weekend? Okay, well, we went by fast, but I want to say happy Ramadan, Ramadan Mabarak to everyone.

SPEAKER_13

Oh yes, Ramadan Mabarak.

SPEAKER_11

It has started, so it has started. To days, 30 days, I'll be fasting. And if I'm grumpy, you gotta forgive me because I'm not eating.

SPEAKER_13

So you won't be grumpy.

SPEAKER_11

You're always a ray of sunshine. Okay, that's bullshit and a lie. No one believes that lie.

SPEAKER_13

I'm not lying. Okay, you're right. Um, okay, so Muni, what did you watch this weekend?

SPEAKER_11

All right, so I'm still not doing anything Bollywood yet. Hopefully, maybe I don't know how Ramadan goes. I don't think I'll probably watch that much, but I am still watching my Turkish drama, the one told you about last week, Arafta.

SPEAKER_13

You know what's so funny? Yeah. The minute you said this, uh-huh, I was scrolling TikTok and somebody, somebody else said the same thing. And not only did they say they're gorgeous, but they didn't say it was a slow burn like you did. They said it was actually like really good.

SPEAKER_11

So I it's really, it's really good the story moving, but slow burn romance. That's what I meant. The romance is. I think it's the problem is you're probably watching it in Hindi and it doesn't make sense. No, no, no, no, no. I'm watching it you can't. It's in it's in Turkish and subtitles are in English. Yeah, yeah. Okay, okay. So there's a slow burn in rel in in rela relating to the romance of it. Like they just like it's taking a while. Like they just got like together and um like romantically, but like it's they're both really good looking. Like you need to watch it, it's so good.

SPEAKER_08

Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_13

Lovely. Um so I actually haven't watched anything um BC either, but I caught up on all of my housewives. Okay. I caught up on all of my Bravo TV, like Summer House and Southern Charm, and it's they are just so delicious.

SPEAKER_11

What are I don't think I've even heard of them.

SPEAKER_13

Money Oh, it is so so good. And now Love is Blind has started. Oh god. What city? Ohio. Oh. Ohio, exactly. So yes. So um it's it's not bad so far. I'm um so they're doing it. They release like six episodes, and then every Wednesday they're releasing like a number of episodes, right? So I watched the first six, and then I guess today they released more. I haven't started started that bulk yet. Um then I did add something else really fun yesterday. What did you do? I went to my crazy Zumba on crack class. It's called Kazace. Oh yes, you told me about this. You told me Winnie, I felt like I was home. I don't know. It is so fun, and I'm gonna take you one day. We have to go one day. We have to. You are gonna love it.

SPEAKER_11

It is so, so fun. Oh nice. Yeah. I it looked fun. I remember watching the like a video of it and it looked really fun. So yeah.

SPEAKER_10

Really, really, really, really fun.

SPEAKER_13

It's like it's like um like clubbing, but you're working out and it's like there's and it's like dark, there's no mirrors, so you don't feel like conscious or anything, and it's just fun music. It's just great. It's really oh wow, it was a good workout then. I think I got all my steps just in that one hour of class. I gotta try it after Ramadan's over.

SPEAKER_11

And the amount of sweat, I was glowing. It was so per with all the sweat, yeah. Who needs any type of serums?

unknown

Exactly.

SPEAKER_11

It was a natural glow.

SPEAKER_01

Wow.

SPEAKER_11

Yeah.

SPEAKER_13

Money, it is trendy Wendy time. Give me the trending topics for this week. Did you know Wendy's is closed on Maple Avenue, by the way? I don't even know where Maple Avenue is. I'm so sorry. Like, we're we're in Maple Avenue. It's been there for a very long time and it's gone. Bye-bye, Wendy's.

SPEAKER_14

Oh, is it the one? Wait, hold on. Is it the one next to the kava and stuff? Yeah, an extra deity.

SPEAKER_13

Try new Wendy's. Let's get to it. Let's get to try new Wendy's.

SPEAKER_11

Do you know O Romeo, the movie? It just released.

SPEAKER_13

So last last it was last week's uh poll song, one of the songs from the Koki, no, Ashikoki Colony or something.

SPEAKER_11

Colony. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. So that movie is Shayat Kapoor's movie and Tripti Dimri's movie, and it's like by Oh, Thripty Dimri's in this?

SPEAKER_12

Yeah.

SPEAKER_13

Dimri is like a dumbo. I don't know. I'm not a big fan of hers. Oh gosh. I I think she's a great actress. I like her a lot. I know, I know you like her. I know you do. She's gonna take more time for me. I did like her in bedak too. Yeah. But it was more, it was more sedant that I liked. But she was okay. She was just there.

SPEAKER_11

No. I I like her. I think she's good. Um is a movie by Vishhal Bardwaj. Bardwaj? Bardwaj. Vishhal Bardwaj. I think he's in like the movies um Makbul and um wasn't Omkara his? Kind of dark. Darker movies. Yeah. So this is like a play on I think Romeo and Juliet, because um Romeo, it's not like a little spinoff, like a little play on that. It's not fully those story, but like they try to do that. And um Shahad Kapur plays this character called Ustara, Tripti plays this girl named Afsha Kureshi. And this is like kind of off of the Mafia Queens book. Mafia que sorry, Mafia Queens of Mumbai is a Hussein Zaidi book. And that's where Gangubai. Gangubai is based off of that.

SPEAKER_13

Oh, okay, okay. I have his, I have um that same Zaidi guy's book. I think it's kind of like I think it might be called Mafia Dawns. I have it. I haven't read it yet, but I have it. But it's like based on Abraham Um That Wood Ibrahim and all that.

SPEAKER_11

Yeah, yeah. So this is supposed to be like gangsters play and like all that type of stuff. So cool. It got mixed review. It got mixed reviews. Okay, and another movie that released, and you're gonna be so excited about this movie though. So get ready. Which one? Suya me. Oh god. Which I know? Yeah, but let me tell you something. It has mixed reviews also. And it also is 80% of the remote. Wait, there's hold on.

SPEAKER_12

There's a good reviews in there?

SPEAKER_11

Yeah, no, seriously. I have two reviews of it. One is a review uh by uh Times India, and they're like saying it's not good, it's not good at all. You know, they don't understand what they're trying to do there. And then I have another review by this other person, and I think I don't know, this this one is like they're this one's so good. It's a it's a remake of a Thai Anise serial uh a horror horror film called The Pool, and they did a remake of that version and they like switched around a little bit. And this reviewer is like, oh my god, it's so good. It's like so much better than the Thai movie. Her brother? I I don't know. I don't know who the reviewer is.

SPEAKER_13

Probably paid.

SPEAKER_11

Yeah. I don't know who the reviewer is or what's happening, but but they're saying it's really good. I saw some scenes of it, and I'm not gonna lie, those scenes of hers were actually pretty decent. And this movie is with that guy I think we both like. Um what is his name? Hold on. Ardar Shav Uh Ardesh yeah, Ardash Gorov. We I like him. He's in really good movies, he's done a lot of good movies, Netflix and stuff like that. So is with him. So I don't know if he's carrying the movie or like, but again, her scenes.

SPEAKER_13

Maybe the story is carrying the movie because it's a remake of a Thai movie, right? So maybe the story is.

SPEAKER_11

I actually think the story is stupid, but whatever.

SPEAKER_13

That's the whole thing.

SPEAKER_11

Wait, you saw the Thai version or you just read the story? I saw no, I just read the script. No, that sounds stupid. Like, why would anyone watch this? It's uh it sounds so unrealistic, completely unrealistic, but here it is.

SPEAKER_13

One Bollywood movie is realistic to you. I agree. All right, well, I don't want to watch either one of those.

SPEAKER_11

Next. Okay. Um, our young heartthrob is coming up with a new movie.

SPEAKER_13

God save us all. Okay. Shania and this guy at the same time in one podcast. I'm dying.

SPEAKER_11

Oh man, yeah. Captain India, all right? This movie's called Captain India.

SPEAKER_13

Oh, okay. Can I tell you what Sahage said?

SPEAKER_11

Yeah, tell me a story. Tell me a story.

SPEAKER_13

I showed him the Netflix they uh, yeah, it was like a Instagram post, right? And he's like, Are you trying to make Captain America? I'm like, ew. With Karak Aryan. And he's like, I hope not. I said, I hope not too.

SPEAKER_11

So even if my 10-year-old son is like because I don't I don't even know. Honestly, I don't know, I don't know what they're trying to do here. But he looks like a pilot or something. He's reuniting with a director who he did Sonu Kiti Tuki Sweetie, Pati Pati Urwoo, Bubalaya 2, Bubalaya 3. So it's those people that he's doing that with. They must re they really like this guy. They must really like him.

SPEAKER_13

Okay, so he I mean, I guess you have given me three no thank yous so far. So yeah. We can skip over Captain India. I don't know if you want to talk more about it. Okay.

SPEAKER_11

No, I think we're done. I think we're done. No, Roy Saraph. He's the guy that we like. Yeah, we like him because he's a really good dancer. Exactly. We like him. He's gonna he we like him, and he's gonna be in the movie Hiranja. And I think that's a movie by Imtiaz Ali. Wasn't there a Hiranja that came out with Drthi? No, that was Leela Majinu.

SPEAKER_13

Leila Majnu. Oh, okay. I gotta mix it up.

SPEAKER_11

So it's the same directors and stuff like that. So they're doing Hiranja. Oh. So right now they they've gotten uh Rohit as the as the he as he uh sorry, as Ranja. Who's he? They signed him. They haven't said the who here is yet. Oh, I like him.

SPEAKER_13

I actually really do like him.

SPEAKER_11

Yeah, I do like him, and hopefully they did a good job on it, and I'm gonna I'm excited to see. And Leila Majnook had like uh has like a weird cult following. So like last year it came like re-released and so it made more money in his re-release than his original release, apparently.

SPEAKER_13

Oh, okay, okay.

SPEAKER_11

So three no thank yous and one thank you. One thank you. I'm in. Well, this is gonna this is gonna be a no thank you. Also, Chan Meradil is anonymous movie. Um, so I don't know. I'm kinda torn.

SPEAKER_13

That's uh perhaps.

SPEAKER_11

Because I want to see him picture. Thank you. I don't know. We don't know. Uh but it's gonna be released on May 8th. I'm not watching it on theaters. If anything is when it comes to Netflix, I'll watch it. I don't think any of these are gonna be theater watches for me. Not for me. Well, that's all the movies. Let me tell you something else that's happening, and we've talked about this. Tell me. There's some drama with Dawn 3. So recently, I remember we heard that uh Renvier Singh was not gonna do it anymore. He was backing away, and then I heard that Farhan Akhtar was gonna sue him based off of leaving. Right.

SPEAKER_13

So if okay, first the original Dawn was Amitab. Then Shah Rukh Khan took over, and then did a remake version of the original Dawn and did that did the Don. And that and then up to like what, maybe two months ago, it was Renvier Singh that was supposed to take over for Shah Rukh. And now you're saying that Renvere stepped out.

SPEAKER_11

Yes, Renveer stepped out. I think Renvere stepped out because his look for Durandar and like whatever that was is kind of similar to Dawn's kind of clash or something, and he didn't want to do it anymore. That's what I that's what I was saying.

SPEAKER_13

Wait, Renvere didn't want to do it, is what people are saying. Yeah.

SPEAKER_11

That's what I was saying. Renvere wanted to back out because it was like very similar to the casting. But the shot the news that I'm hearing, and what we're like Bollywood Hangama is saying, is that when Veer Singh team uh met with Excel Entertainment in Mumbai and in the present presence of the Producers Guild of India, which includes Amer Khan. Oh, okay. Yeah. So they went there, and Sajid Nandiwala and Ramesh Tarani and others claimed that Farhan Akhtar never had a script place for Don 3. What? And they, yeah, apparently, okay. They allege that he remained indecisive for three years since the film's announcement and shifted his focus on his acting career and even tried to replace Renvere with Ritic. And only did he approach Renvere after the success of Durunder. That's what they're saying, okay? Meanwhile, that's Renvier's team is saying all this stuff. Meanwhile, for Han's team is claiming that Renvere never had any issues with the script from the beginning, that it was discussed with him at the very every stage, and that Renvere was always excited to play the iconic character that Big B and uh SRK played. Renvere also gave an example that he rejected multiple films to prepare for Bon Sali's uh Baiju Barwa, but Bonsali never did it and and is now doing something else. So he also said that SRK agreed to do Don 3 again for Han Akhtar would have replaced Renvier to do without compensation. That's what they're saying. Okay, so hold on.

SPEAKER_13

Hold on here. So Renvir is saying that these guys don't have a script ready, and that's why I like I don't know what to do.

SPEAKER_11

Well he yeah, he's trying to say that he never completely agreed and they'd never had a they never had a script ready and he didn't know what it was gonna be about drama. Is the drama like who's mad at who? Farhan is mad at them. Farhan is like, no, you agreed to do it, now you're backing out of the movie. Now Farhan has no one to play Don 3. Rithik, not Rithik, what's that guy's name? Runvir. Renvier is saying that they approached Rithik and just totally sidelined him. That's what that's what they're saying.

SPEAKER_13

Renvier is too saying all that stuff. It's a he shed, he said, she said type of thing.

SPEAKER_11

Yeah, and now they went to the producer's guild and Amar Khan apparently had to like like help solve this problem. This is like a panchayat of business. Yeah, it is like a panchayat. It's like a panchayat. Apparently they had to go to panchayat and go talk about and lay their two claims of what's happening.

SPEAKER_13

So who's gonna win at the end? You think just for the other thing? I don't know. I don't know.

SPEAKER_11

I mean, I I have no idea. Now I'm hearing, now seeing that for Han Uktar is apparently playing Don 3 himself in his own movie.

SPEAKER_13

You know what? I don't think he would be that bad as Don, but he wouldn't be he wouldn't be like Shah Rukh or Renvier. I feel like he wouldn't be Shah Rukh Runvier. Like I feel like I don't know. I don't know who would play at the end.

SPEAKER_12

You know what though, Renvier?

SPEAKER_13

Step off of it. It's fine. You are on such a high right now with Durander, and you're gonna have like all these Sanjay Leela books.

SPEAKER_11

Well he is. That is that is exactly why he doesn't want to do it. That's what that's what Farhan is saying. Yeah, Farhan is saying that.

SPEAKER_13

But isn't Renvier saying, well, well, I'm not doing it because you don't have a script for me, right?

SPEAKER_11

And then you then you ain't saying no, he's not saying, he's not saying you don't have a script for me. He's saying you never had a script when you first came to me. Now I looked at the script kind of and I don't like it. He's gonna do it. Kind of like that. And then Farhan's like, we always had a script. We showed you the script. You see the script from from moment to moment. We don't know what you're talking about. You get what I'm saying? It's like he said, she said type of thing.

SPEAKER_13

Okay. Y'all figure it out and then let us know.

SPEAKER_11

Yeah, exactly. But we don't need to see this playing out on Instagram. Okay. Yeah, we don't care. We don't care. Yeah, exactly. Exactly. This is it for the trending topics. We'll come back with some more next week. We'll see if there's anything more juicy.

SPEAKER_13

Oh my gosh, Muni. The letter M is my favorite letter right now. Why is that? Because you, Muni, and there's another dancing queen, Mauri, both M's in my life. Well, she's really not in my life, but you know. She could be, she could be. We just gotta make it. She could be. She could be. But I, you know, like I I've always wanted to know how she kind of like got started in industry. And I mean, she is one of one of the biggest, like I would say 90s actresses that we have. I agree.

SPEAKER_11

I agree. One of the biggest and one of the I I people still talk about her dancing. Like I know we talk about other stuff and she was an actor. She was a good, so great actress too, but but I think people always remember her for dancing more than her acting as much. Because even till now, when I see that lady perform, I just want to stop and look at her because I just think she's so good.

SPEAKER_13

Well, except for stage shows. Oh, no, those we don't know what happened there. In the United States.

SPEAKER_11

We don't know what happened there. But when I see her And in Canada. Yeah, but when I see her in India, it looks good.

SPEAKER_13

Yeah. Well, hopefully. I think on screen. She's a good on-screen performer. True. Let's put it that way. Exactly. Um, well, so do you even know how she got discovered? Like how she came into Bollywood? She doesn't have any um Bollywood lakes. Like, she's not somebody's daughter, she's not somebody's like cousin or anything like that, you know? Like somebody saw her dancing um in Mumbai, uh, because she's classically trained in katak. And she just somebody actually just noticed her and was like, I want her in my film. And it was um a filmmaker named Hirin Nag, and her her debut film was this film called Abod. I've never seen it, but she did debut in the 80s. Never. Yeah, I mean that well, the film didn't do so well apparently, but people loved her because she has a really like dazzling smile, right? Like that smile. She does have a dazzling smile, so good. Yeah, like it just kind of lights up the screen when you see her smile, and she kind of like she's like a little twinkle in her eye and stuff. Then you see her dancing, and you're like, all right, hold up. This this girl is good, right? In terms because in the 80s, honestly, in the 80s, most of the women's roles were being a pretty face and dancers, right?

SPEAKER_11

Yes, yeah. I hate to say it, but it was like that. We talked about it. We talked about what they were, they were just like extra characters there, and that's what they were. Yeah.

SPEAKER_13

Yeah. But she did go into um, you know, as she like kind of got better as an actress, I feel like her roles kind of evolved. But yeah, back like back in the 80s and 90s, like she was like the top star back, you know, like in that.

SPEAKER_11

Yeah, in the 90s, definitely. I feel like I don't know much about her from the 80s, but in the 90s, definitely, right? It was mothery, mother with everyone. Um, when you look at her like filmography, you see all so many movies in the 90s. Like, if you open up her like Wikipedia filmography, it's like every year there's like four or five movies she's done in the 80s, right? Like definitely with like so many different actors. Um, and she looked good with a lot of actors. So can I ask you what was one of your favorite um earlier movies of hers? Okay, so I think this is kind of like gonna be the same for us both because I the earliest memory of my of her for me personally, at Is The Zab, I think. And that's where she did the song Eggdo Thing, Eggdo Ting. That song, obviously, that song just took it to a whole different level for her, I feel like. Like that song is still, people talk about it, they have remakes and remixes and all these different types of things on it. But I personally, my favorite movie of hers is Ram Luckan, even though like that, even though right, you know, like she didn't have she was like this like gaoke goried and didn't have like much stuff, but like every scene she was in, it was just so good. Like, so like I just loved watching her presence with Anil Kapoor in that in those scenes.

SPEAKER_13

So and even with Jackie Shruff too, like there was that one song where she's like Bada Dukina.

SPEAKER_12

It's so good.

SPEAKER_11

The song is so like she did such a good job performing that. Like sometimes I'll watch that song just because to see the song because it's so good.

SPEAKER_13

Yeah, exactly. So for me, like, yeah, Tezab was there, but for me, I told you like my first Hindi movie was Ramla Khan. So that's when I like, oh wow, all of these people are so good and the songs are so great. And then I think like as I like started to learn more about Hindi movies, like Ek Thotin was like one of the songs that like kind of came up, but I never watched the movie. So because I didn't understand Hindi, there were no subtitles either. So yeah. Um, but yeah, I love I I really loved Ramla Khan. I really liked her in it, and I think from those two movies specifically, you kind of blew her up.

SPEAKER_11

What's one of your favorite movies from her from the 90s?

SPEAKER_13

Ooh, I mean that's hard. That's actually hard, I think. Because that's when she really like was in everything, I feel like, in the 90s. But my one of my favorites, and I think this is your favorite. Probably Kalnayak. Yes. I thought Kalnayak was so good. I also really did like her in Beta, but I think Kalnayak, like the dancing, the acting, like the way she looked, like it was so good. So everything about that movie was really, really good. Um, but yeah, I don't know. I think Kalnayak would be would be my winner in the 90s.

SPEAKER_11

She was so good in Kalnayak. Again, going back to the songs that she did. Um, there's multiple songs in that movie that she performed and looked so good in it. Um, the song Choli Kippiche, obviously.

SPEAKER_13

What about your favorite in the 90s?

SPEAKER_11

Another one of my favorite movies. I obviously can like is one of one of them that you've already said that you're, but like I also really liked um the movie Beta. I know you said that that's like one of yours too, but Beta was also really again with Annu Kapoor. Um I really like that because she did she played this like strong character in it. Um, she was a modern woman that got married to like this guy that's not very uh educated, and then like she's a village boy, yeah, and she sees all the injustice happening to him, and she tries to do so much to like save him and protect him and things like that. So I really like again, I like that movie. I like songs in it. Um that's a Telugu remake would think it is. Is it? Oh, I didn't hear that. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_13

So I like but I liked both of them. Like I liked this because I liked it. I rarely, I rarely hear you say that. No, you you're right, exactly. But I really like this one and I like the songs in this one. I like that one and I like the songs in that one. And I mean, I think I like that one obviously a little bit more because I could understand it a little bit better, but uh it was this because it was the same story, maybe that's why I liked it. Oh, I know Hindi now.

SPEAKER_11

Yeah, and another famous song from that movie. Oh, the movie?

SPEAKER_12

Yeah.

SPEAKER_11

Oh, you're right. Yes, yes, yes. That's right. You're right. Yep. Again, with Anal Kapoor. But another, she did so many movies in the 90s, it's really hard to like be like, oh, this is my favorite, this is my favorite. Narrow it down, yeah. Yeah, like she also did Dill with American, and that movie was also a very like of his time, like it was a hit. It was a huge hit. Yeah, and again, great songs. Great songs, huge good songs. And she won best actors for that movie for Dil with Amir Khan. Yeah, film film for award best actress she won.

SPEAKER_13

Um, so another one that I thought was okay. Not not great, but not like um, I thought it was I thought she was just very different in it. Let's put it that way. Okay. Unjam. Yes, yes. I don't know why I forgot that one. Unjam. Yes. It was really um crazy movie for that time. Yep. Uh Sharukan was in it, but Shaneeke Ketame was also in it. Yes, she had some of the best songs. Yes, some of the best songs. That was my first Bollywood song that I danced to. Oh wow. Shane Kepame. It was so fun. I was like, oh, it was it was great. But another, like, showcasing her acting talent, showcasing her dancing talent. And she looked good with Shah Rukhan too, actually.

SPEAKER_11

She looked good. And that movie was interesting because where I always talk about this is that um she goes from like this, like she has a transformation. She becomes, she was a victim of Shah Rukhan's stalking, and then in the end she takes revenge, and like and then everyone dies in that movie. It's very dope. It's great. It's very great. It's very good. Such a good movie, exactly. Maybe that's why I liked it right up my alley. I know. I know this movie is not one of your favorites. I know you don't like it. I personally love Ham Up Gen Hakon. Okay. I it's not that I hate it.

SPEAKER_13

No, you hate it. I just don't think you need to watch it more than once, maybe twice.

SPEAKER_11

Oh my god, I watched it so many times in my life. Yeah, I know. You watch everything so many times. No, not everything. What are you talking about? You and Ramyo watch bad movies all the time. No, we watch bad movies to make fun of it, but this is a good movie, and I watch it as nostalgia and give me good feel. The first half is like good feels, the second half is like, what the hell just happened? Yeah.

SPEAKER_13

But I like it because of Tuffy the Dog.

SPEAKER_11

I liked it. It's very whole it was very wholesome. Like you could watch it with your family. The family movie, right? And they did all the time.

SPEAKER_13

I think it was one of the first wholesome family movies in a very long time. And that's why it also blew up back then. Because it could be. I'm there were look, I mean, looking at the list, like they were all either murder or like too lovey-dovey, or you know, like it was like a it was a family. It was a very family.

SPEAKER_11

Family entertainer. Yeah, it was a family entertainer. Like a family movie with like just how a family dynamic is working, how they get married, all that all and that and that I that was sweet. Like, you know, again, iconic songs in it. Jutia do Pesela, people still be playing that song. And I think we have to every wedding. Every wedding during that Jute song, the the stealing of the shoes, yeah, playing that song.

SPEAKER_13

Even the other one, um G. We hear that all the time. Okay, I know that I don't think Salman Khan and um and Madu look good together, but he was really cute in so many of his like scenes.

SPEAKER_12

He was so just that good Salman Khan that the one that you had a crush on. My husband my second husband.

SPEAKER_02

Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes.

SPEAKER_13

All right, so post-90s, she kind of like didn't have too many films. So it's like in the 2000s, she had a few selective films um here and there throughout, and then even up to like 2026, right? Present year. Because she got married, she had kids, so I think she took a break for a little bit. But like starting in the 2000s, uh, for me, and I think actually is the only movie that stood out to me in the 2000s was Dave Das. Like she was just great, just the whole movie, everybody was really good in that movie. This the scenery was good, the um the storyline was good. I know some people did not like Aishria Rai. I don't care. I thought she was really good in it. Um, but I thought she did a great job. Like she was so good. I one of my favorite songs actually is the one that her Jackie Shruff. Oh no, the other one, the other one. The the drunk song. The drunk song, yeah, yeah, yeah. It's so good. It is really good. Jackie Shruff and Shah Rukhan. It's great. I love it.

SPEAKER_11

Yeah, it's she looks so like clean, natural. Like she doesn't have much makeup on. Very natural. And I know uh I I personally think what Dave Das is one of Ushara's best movies. Like, I don't think yeah, I thank you. I will take that compliment on her behalf. No, I guess Mothery played that role like perfectly. I personally thought that too. Um, so Dave does, yeah, Dave does a great movie. I personally also really, really like Aja Natchla. That was her debut back into movies, and I thought she did a great job in that. I thought she was fantastic in it.

SPEAKER_10

Yeah. I love it I loved it. I loved that movie.

SPEAKER_11

Um I love the songs in it, I like the character, I like how they built that up. So I was very happy with that movie as well. Aja Natchla, if you haven't seen it and you don't like it, it's fine. But I think she was great and the side characters were really good too. Another movie that uh of hers that she wasn't, it was a multiple, it was like a huge cast. Different people had different like sections. And the movie Latja, um, and she did a really good job on that. She was nominated for best actress for supporting uh, sorry, best supporting actress. She didn't win it, but she was still nominated. And her scenes in it were really good too. And there was again another song, great song with Manisha Kerala. They did uh Buddy Mushkil, Buddy Mushkel.

SPEAKER_13

Yeah, yeah. So I didn't watch that movie, but I've heard it's actually really, really good. Um, but again, I like it was a very different movie than what I was watching back then in Bollywood, right? So I think I but the song was really good. I remember that.

SPEAKER_11

I don't know if the movie did that well, but um I remember the song. I remember I remember Madhury's part in it, and it was like a little story with Manisha Kerala going to like ending up being in these different women, meeting up with these different room is and seeing their stories and their life and how it is. So it was kind of it was really the concept was really cool. I just don't know if it did a you know a great uh great in the box office. But back then, I I feel like even now it's really hard for a female-led movie to do really well, right? Like I I feel like it's still pretty.

SPEAKER_13

I think those the female-led movies would be great, like unfortunately, and I hate saying this, but it would be they're good on OTT type of things versus like theater theater releases. And like even Ludja, like in the 90s, like there's not gonna be very many people that are gonna go watch.

SPEAKER_11

No, they're not gonna watch female-led movies like that. And like you said earlier, um, that uh even people don't go to theaters as much anymore, unless it's a big star coming out, Shark Khan movie coming out, someone Khan movie coming out. People rarely go to watch movies in the theaters anymore. So yeah, yeah, that is what's happening.

SPEAKER_13

And also the I like I've been up complaining for a while now, they don't come next to me anymore. So that's why I'm not gonna go. Um, so another another movie in the 2000s, it didn't stand out to me, but I think the star cast kind of like made it very big and grand. Karin Johar's Kalunk. Oh my god. Madhury Dixit, Sunday that Varundavan, um, Kara Dvani was in it for a second, Alia Butt was in it. Songs were so so good. The movie failed. It was so bad.

SPEAKER_11

We were all like, what is this movie? What are we watching?

SPEAKER_13

But you know what? In Madhury's defense, that was supposed to be Sri Devi's movie, but Sri Devi had passed away, so they needed to replace her. And so I think they they replaced her with Madri.

SPEAKER_11

That has nothing to do with Madhury, the movie was bad. And it was Madri was so bad. Madhri didn't do anything to the thing.

SPEAKER_13

No, but meaning like she, you know, she signed for it. But also, that was like the the other anticipation about that movie was it was the first time that Madhury and Sunday Death were gonna be working together after this whole like love romance thing that happened in the 90s. So people were like, oh my god.

SPEAKER_11

But yeah, I don't think they did they shot I don't think they saw even shot one scene together. I think it was like one scene. There was not no one scene maybe there was no one scene, right? There was no scene.

SPEAKER_13

I don't think so. I think it was zero scenes together, but there was they were just in the same movie. But yeah, Calunk, terrible movie, but it was it was a um it was one that was like advertised a lot because it was like all of these people and the the sets were so grand and amazing, the songs were good.

SPEAKER_11

Dharma was trying to follow like copy Sanjali Babun. That's what I felt like watching that movie. It was like a copy of Sanjay Bunch. You can copy him, but do it well. You didn't do it well. You didn't do it well, I don't know what that was. Stick to what you do well. I don't know what that was. But also in 2000 recently, she did uh Bulbalaya 3. She was in that? Yeah, she didn't bulb three, yep. Oh. Yeah. Was Karthik Aryan? Yeah, I know. Oh god. I know. Okay. Whatever. There is one movie I forgot from the 90s.

SPEAKER_13

Which one?

SPEAKER_11

Diltapagle.

SPEAKER_13

Oh, okay, fine, sure.

SPEAKER_11

I didn't love that movie, but that I feel like was an iconic movie. I think she won Best Actress for that movie as well for the year it came out. Oh, really? She was she was kind of a side piece actress.

SPEAKER_13

I felt like Krishma. Oh no, maybe Kurishma was a side piece actress. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You're right.

SPEAKER_11

Kurishma was a supporting actress because Diltapagleho, she won Best uh Actress Film Fair for that. So yeah, she won the award for that. I don't again, I don't think that movie's that great. It has some fun songs in it. I personally all the songs were good. Songs were great, actually. But I didn't think the movie was the movie was all that great, but people seemed to love it, and then um again, she won Best Actress for it.

SPEAKER_13

Yeah. And you know, people were excited about that movie too because it was it's been such a long time since having like that big star cast again. And then Akshay Kumar Yeah, Akshay Kumar was like a fun like a fun little ca cameo at the end. So it was like excitement at the time. I remember I was excited to go watch it because I went to the theater. I was in college, went to the theater watching it. I'm like, eh, it wasn't that good, but I guess it was fun to see everybody on screen together.

SPEAKER_11

It was it was a really cool cast. You didn't see that cast come together at all. Yeah, so this baga is it's a okay watch, not my one, not one of my favorite watches of hers, but it's but it was a big 90s. It was a big 90s hit. Big ninety people love it. People, I think people even now like will talk about how that's one of their favorite movies, just not one of mine.

SPEAKER_13

Alright, somebody have a question for you. Yes, ma'am.

SPEAKER_11

What is she doing now?

SPEAKER_13

Uh uh.

SPEAKER_11

She's done a lot of television stuff. I think she did a lot of television stuff. She was a judge for Jelly Dick Lodge for a really long time. Um, she also has done a lot of OTT. She did a um show called The Fame Game. She was on that. Oh, that was um with that guy.

SPEAKER_13

Any Kobor's brother.

SPEAKER_11

Sanjay. Sanjay Kapoor.

SPEAKER_13

Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And you know what? Yes, Nyurki keeps saying, she's like, it's Sri Devi's story. This is how Sri Devi died. Yes, it was Anne who said it.

SPEAKER_14

Anne is the one who kept saying Sri Devi's story.

SPEAKER_13

Even the other day we were talking about it, and she was just like, Yeah, Sri Devi's story. I'm like, okay, well, I never watched it because it looked boring.

SPEAKER_11

I I don't know. I wanted to watch it, but then I didn't watch it.

SPEAKER_13

Yeah. But yeah, you're right. I think she's doing a lot of like um OTTs kind of things that are coming straight to straight to streaming.

SPEAKER_11

Yeah. She did. Uh recently she did Mrs. Dishponde. Um, I want to watch it. It looks like a thriller. I think it's kind of up your lane. You should watch it. I probably will at some point. Yeah, and then and I think in this year is the movie Mob Hend's gonna come out, and we talked about this movie already. It's oh right, right. Uh with Trip Thrypti's in it, uh Madhury's in it, some other characters are in it too, and it looks fun. It looks kind of fun, chaotic movie.

SPEAKER_13

So I will probably watch it. I mean, the only issue I have with Mothery, honestly, is um that stage show that she did, like she shouldn't have done it. Because I really think it just kind of ruined her reputation a little bit. But you know what? Make maybe she won't do it again. She tried it out, didn't work out. Don't do it again. Don't do it again. Unless you're coming with like big dancing stars, you know, like you're and it's actually a show show, not like a talk show. Exactly. I agree, I agree.

SPEAKER_11

All right, ma'am. We talked about our favorite movies, you talked about all the songs that we love of hers, all the movies, all the characters that we like about her. How about we play a little game? And you're gonna tell me what comes up is gonna be rapid fire again.

SPEAKER_13

Alright, let's go.

SPEAKER_11

Alright, okay, ham upkehank on or delta bagle.

SPEAKER_13

I can't believe I said that because I didn't like either one of them.

SPEAKER_11

I was about to say, did you just say you like Diltapagle?

SPEAKER_13

But then you know you got you got Shookan factor in the guess.

SPEAKER_11

I guess that wins you all the time. Yeah. Um they have that's Kalnayak. Oh, that's awesome. Oh, that's hard. I think I have to go with Kalnayak on that one. Oh, okay, yeah. I I would honestly I think I would go with Kalnayak also. I think I would go.

SPEAKER_13

Beta.

SPEAKER_11

Uh but it had a good song in it. It had one of the best songs. So did so did Beta. You're right. Beta did too, yeah. Sajan or Raja. I don't think you watched any one of those.

SPEAKER_13

I didn't watch any of them, but I like the songs in Raja more than Sajan. No, I like Sajan songs too, but Sajan songs are a lot more slower. And Raja songs were more update. Yeah, I would go for Raja. I would go for Raja. Alright. Money. My turn for rapid fire. Yes. Ooh. Hard. So hard already. I don't even know what it is, but it's hard.

SPEAKER_11

Take the scene or chole kipiche. Chole kipiche for me. Hands down. Yeah. I love choli kiche. I that choreo, man. I don't know how she did that choreo. It's so good.

SPEAKER_13

So good. So good.

SPEAKER_11

Okay.

SPEAKER_13

Um. Next one. Did it radeva divana or are you?

SPEAKER_11

Diditra deva di wana.

SPEAKER_13

Yeah, that's because you love mama.

SPEAKER_11

Yeah, I don't like are. That's where I would do the modularity. You didn't like it? I didn't really like that song. I thought it was good.

SPEAKER_13

I don't know why. I don't like it. I don't like that one. Okay. Um, and your last one. Dolare dola or Aja naturally. Oh, Dola I Dola. Sorry. Really?

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_13

Actually, like both of them. I don't know.

SPEAKER_11

They're both really good, but if I had to pick it'd be Dolar Edola for me. I just like that step. Yeah, but Dola Idola, like those, that again, another choreo that was just so fantastic. Yeah. I don't care how many times we practice it, it doesn't come as good as the We're not gonna get it.

SPEAKER_13

Alright, so Mother Dixon on a whole fantastic dancer. Like she is so good. I mean, she was discovered dancing, I guess. Um, her face, like, she like you know when she does those eyebrow moves and like that those eyebrows just tell you a big story, right? Like just she danced with her facial expressions. Yeah, no, she's so good. And then I think just even like from this like the start of her career to the end of the cute current her career, right? Like she was like, you know, just like the pretty girl in in the movie, and then like she's kind of developed and did all these different different movies, like Kanjam, okay. She like killed everybody and she died herself, and then Ludja, where she was a very like a feminist, and then now she's coming out into these like a naturally cutesy things. But I mean, I haven't seen um fame game, and I do want to see Deshfande, but I think they're gonna be more like showing her acting skills versus and maybe hopefully some of her dancing skills too. I hope. But I think you know, she's kind of she's kind of done the spectrum. Yeah. Start to finish.

SPEAKER_11

She's done a couple of movies since she caught she's done a actually a bunch of movies. If you look at her filmography, she has done a bunch of movies since she came back to the industry. None of them has been just been a hit, you know. Nothing that's been like, you know, like like a strong movie for her. Because she can't play any more like side roles. I think she tried to do it with like total them all, a couple of like funny movies. She's trying to do comedic stuff, and it just doesn't work for her because she's just we just remember her as an icon. She's too good. Yeah, she's such an icon. You can't it's hard to put her in these type of roles anymore. I hope she comes up with some some good movies too. I would love to see her in more. And like you said, she's an amazing ac actress, but she's a sorry, she's an amazing. Dancer, but she's a fantastic actress too. And people I think forget that she also has a great filmography with all the different types of movies and all the different type of characters that she's played.

SPEAKER_13

Okay, Money, we had trendy wendies, and now it's blindy windy time. Alright, blind, please tell us the blinds. Every actor dreams of a blockbuster debut and being inundated with movie offers post that debut. This actor got to live that dream. But things are not going as planned. As per the sources, the newbie Star Kid has signed a three-film contract with a top studio, which bankrolled his debut movie. The contract gives veto power to the studio when it comes to him taking up projects outside the studio. They are very particular about the scripts that he should be taking up. The studio rejected several scripts because of which he is not able to cash in on the success of his debut movie and establish himself in the industry. Another young and handsome actor with similar looks got offered the scripts the studio rejected, and he locked them up. The newbie star kid is worried these days.

SPEAKER_11

Can you guess? Well, we I mean, talk about a three we did a whole episode on three film deal.

SPEAKER_12

Why did he sign a three film?

SPEAKER_11

It's wire of a Han Bonde, right? It has to be.

SPEAKER_13

Why did he sign number one rule? And you were a star kid. Why are you signing a star the three-film deal? He's not a star.

SPEAKER_14

Wait, technically not a star kid.

SPEAKER_11

Technically not a star kid. Remember that. He has star he has family relations, that's true, but he's not a star kid. So like he doesn't really have a godfather if you think about it. So he needed someone. YRF was like taking him on, giving them this big opportunity, did it, and now who is so like I don't know what's going on. Like, what movie are they bringing out for him? I heard he designed so many different movies, so what's happened? No. No.

SPEAKER_13

He he so here's my thing you had this big success with Sayara, right? You didn't and he he it sounds like he signed signed this three-film deal contract after Sayara. Why would you do that? Like thousands of other studios coming up to you. Anyway, yes, you're correct. It is YRF, it is Ahan Punde. Can you guess who the second Star Kid is? Or not Star Kid, the second actor.

SPEAKER_11

Vedang Rana, I was thinking, or it could be Lux, or it could be Rohitzarov, it could be any of those guys. Or um Abishek's nephew, I forget his name. Augustia.

SPEAKER_13

Um okay, people are saying um Vedang, and his name's last name is Raina. But yeah, people are saying Vedang Raina. I haven't seen the other names, but he kinda because they said that the the other actor looks a lot like Ahan Pandey and I think Vedang and Ahan Panda. Yeah, they look yeah, exactly.

SPEAKER_11

That's what I think of the same thing. Yeah, that's what I think Vedang. Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_13

But I feel like I haven't seen many of these boy star kids a lot versus the girls, right? Yeah, like yeah.

SPEAKER_11

But that Brande is not is not uh is not a star kid though. He's not a star kid, I'm sorry, but just like with these newer stars, right?

SPEAKER_13

Like these newer the the newer boys. We've seen a lot of the but I think it's because these old men are still.

SPEAKER_11

That's really why the old men want to romance the young girls and these like these other young boys who are supposed to be romancing chance. Like they don't. So we don't know. I think so.

SPEAKER_13

Well, yeah, anyway. Well, that's your blind because I only got one.

SPEAKER_11

So wait, what is Vedang even doing?

SPEAKER_13

I don't know. He broke up with Cushy. I really don't know what he's doing now. No pajama parties for her birthday.

SPEAKER_14

Oh god.

SPEAKER_11

Okay, money, it is about time. What are the polls telling us today? Well, the polls like this new song called Me Tere Ishkme. Oh, what's that from? It's not it's a pop song. And it's yeah, Danish Alfaz, Bohemia, and Lata Mangishker.

SPEAKER_13

Oh, so it's like a remix.

SPEAKER_11

It's like we're a remake of an older song. It's really good. I with the poll, I put I saw it, I put it on the poll, and people voted for that song like so quickly. Really quickly. They did well. Yeah, it's actually a really good song. Yeah, I like it.

SPEAKER_13

All right.

SPEAKER_11

Yeah. My song is from the movie not movie. My vowel for this week is a song by First Man. It's called Gutter. And it just re recently released, and it's actually a really fun song. And he does like a sampling of another song, and it's really good.

SPEAKER_13

Cool. Yeah. Lovely. So my vow is from a movie called AA Twenty Three. It's um it's an Anirud song. Yes. And it's called Twenty-three Theme, and it is so good. It's got like English rap, right? And then you have like uh like a Berthanatum kind of like sequence.

SPEAKER_11

Like a is it the one I is it the one I put it for our po uh for our Yeah, yeah, yeah. And I was like, I love this song.

SPEAKER_13

Yeah, it's such a good song. It's really good. It's uh really, really, really good. Yeah, it's really good. Um so yeah, I mean, good vows, good episode, money. I had fun. Yes.

SPEAKER_11

Like, share, follow. Let us know what you guys think.

SPEAKER_14

Bye.

SPEAKER_00

Uh to me, please, up to me. Numbers never lie. Headed up that sweet.

SPEAKER_11

Why can't I chat with you?

SPEAKER_13

I thought I could chat. I wanna talk to you. What? I wanna talk to you.

SPEAKER_11

That's so she's done like so many different people. She's worked with so many different people, so yeah.

SPEAKER_13

She's done so many people.

SPEAKER_11

I know, she's done so many people. Dang, man. Damn. Yeah.

SPEAKER_13

I don't know, maybe these girls do these days. I don't know. There's so many open marriages.

SPEAKER_11

You do so many open marriages in India. I don't know.

SPEAKER_13

Exactly.

SPEAKER_11

My poll this week is a song by first your bow. Your bow. No, it's not your pole.

SPEAKER_13

Oh, my poll, yeah.

SPEAKER_11

My bow for this week is a song called What kind of pole?

SPEAKER_13

Stripper poll?

SPEAKER_11

Yeah, yeah, the one that you have.
